Early in February of 2018 while having lunch at Applebee's in Silverdale, Dan mentioned to Joey that they should add an escape room to the annual New Year's Eve murder mystery party that Joey and his wife have hosted for years. They talked about it for a while before Joey joked that they should open one for real. Within hours they had researched it online and agreed to talk with their wives about it. As they worked through this process of a business plan, they gained the support of their wives Julie and Carrie.
As they researched ideas, Dan and Joey wanted to develop their ideas into exciting rooms. As they progressed they found people who were selling everything from an idea to a fully finished room. One of those designers was Alan Rushlow from Colorado. Alan is highly sought after to build stages for some of the biggest music festivals in the US. When it is not festival season, Alan and his amazing crew design and build escape rooms. Dan and Joey saw and loved Alan's ideas and looked forward to bringing them to Kitsap County.
After running into a number of obstacles and more than a year and a half of planning, organizing and building, Kitsap Great Escape opened their doors Labor Day weekend of 2019. What started out as two friends talking over a meal has lead to a business that is providing Kitsap County with a great family friendly activity that will be around for many, many years. We hope you join us.
